I wondered if you'd comment on this rumour. Still saving for a D300 or D400 or even this now. I think I'll just wait and see although I'm finding less and less reasons to upgrade all the time. Some people are convinced that the D300 replacement will be FX?

Pardon my ignorance but what is the reasoning by providing two different types of storage? I understand copying across, backup, RAW on one, JPEG on the other but why not both CF? Space?

The FX D300 is already here - it's called the D700 ;-) I think what those people are really hoping for is an FX camera at the D300 price, but I really can't see that happening anytime soon. Nothing wrong with DX, anyway. Unless you need fast ultrawide lenses or the cleanest possible high ISO, DX is far better value overall.

The Canon 1D series has had different dual card slots for a while - I assume it's a space issue. Almost certainly would be on the D300 - the D3's dual CF slots take up an awful lot of space.
